Ray Barnes
Biography
Ray Barnes has worked as an HR professional for 35 years. Having gained an honours degree in Economics from Liverpool University, he worked for 4 blue chip companies over 32 years (the last 18 years as a HR Director)
Over the past year, Ray has been working on a range of employee relations projects for one of the UK’s largest and best-known grocery retailers.
Ray’s particular qualities include analytical thinking, communications and interpersonal skills, customer service, focus and determination, planning and organisation and, having been a member of many company boards and senior management teams, commercial experience and understanding.
Ray has a track record of success in many areas of human resources. He has particularly rich experience in conflict management and resolution in the fields of employee relations and industrial relations. He has worked with many trade unions, up to National Secretary level, when handling change, pay reviews, redundancies, TUPE and industrial disputes. Other areas of strong experience include organisation and culture change, recruitment, performance management, leadership and coaching
Ray is an accredited mediator and is passionate about helping individuals and organisations to resolve conflict, so that they can then make best use of their talents and resources and maximise their potential.
